As we reach 50+ people who are active with the CoronaVirus many people are putting themselves in self imposed isolation. Thats great to help the spread of the virus but not so good with Blood Banks.
As we continue to go through this major event, blood banks are falling short of donors and their blood supplies are starting to run low.

The city is seeing a ‘perfect storm’ develop, with several blood drives being canceled and blood donors refraining from coming in and donating due to fears of contracting the coronavirus.
Officials are asking that healthy people donate now to prevent the blood supply from being depleted. They do not want it to get to the point where surgeries have to be canceled.
According to the American Red Cross Michigan Region, employees are following safety protocols like wearing gloves, wiping down donor-touched areas, using sterile collection sets, and preparing the arm for donations with aseptic scrub.
