The CDC is posting an updated U.S. count to its website every weekday at noon.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. increased by nearly 300 since the last count, according to the CDC.

As of Thursday afternoon, 1,264 cases had been confirmed in the U.S., with a death toll of 36.

Those numbers include cases in 42 states and the District of Columbia.  New York, Washington, California, and Massachusetts have reported the most cases so far.

Globally, the number of confirmed cases is up to 125,000, with a death toll of more than 4,600.
